Morrison’s Launches Vegan Pigs in Blankets

This Christmas, vegans, vegetarians and flexitarians will be able to feast on a selection of plant-based alternatives from Morrison’s.

Introducing more vegan and veggie party food items than ever before, the supermarket giants are making sure that customers have all they need to enjoy the ultimate party spread.

Created for those looking for meat-free products on their festive plate, Morrison’s are showcasing:

  • Vegan No-Pigs in Blankets – a blend of ‘meaty’ jackfruit and chickpeas, which are hand-wrapped in a crispy streaky pastry blanket, giving them the ‘pigs in blankets’ look.
  • Korean Jackfruit Bao Buns – soft, fluffy bao buns with a BBQ pulled jackfruit filling and mixed vegetables with a spicy gochujang sauce
  • Katsu Croquettes – crispy croquettes filled with sweet potato, carrot and red pepper in a creamy and warming Katsu curry sauce

Morrison’s party food expert, Leanne Walters, commented: “Pigs in blankets are one of the UK’s favourite Christmas treats, so we have created a meat-free version that can be enjoyed by vegans or anybody else.”

Perfect as a canapé or alongside a Christmas dinner, Morrison’s No-Pigs in Blankets will be available in stores nationwide from 27 November retailing at £2.50 for a pack of 10, whilst the jackfruit buns and katsu croquettes are both available from the 11th December.
