Chris Packham to Appear at London Cruelty-Free Christmas Festival

TV presenter, naturalist and wildlife campaigner Chris Packham will be appearing at Animal Aid’s Christmas Festival in London on 8th December.

In the early 1990s, Chris Packham supported Animal Aid’s Veggie Pledge Week and gave up meat for the week.

Well-known for his work as a TV naturalist and, more recently, as a campaigner, Chris will talk about his journey from that Veggie Pledge Week to veganism and campaigning for animals, wildlife and the environment.

Now in its 27th year, Animal Aid’s Christmas Festival remains a key event for the animal protection community. With 100 exhibitors, it features a huge array of cruelty-free gifts and delicious vegan food. Visitors can learn about the work of charities and campaign groups, as well as supporting ethical companies.

Inspiring Talks and Events

In addition to the appearance of Chris Packham, the Christmas Festival boasts an excellent programme of talks and events, which include:

  • A screening of the BAFTA-winning film, 73 Cows
  • Cookery demonstration by the vegan food blogger, Aaron Calder
  • A talk by Jane Dalton, the journalist who specialises in animal welfare and conservation
  • Stand-Up for Veganism, with award-winning comedian Carl Donnelly.

Animal Aid Director, Isobel Hutchinson, commented: “We are delighted to be joined by so many inspirational speakers, including Chris Packham. Chris has done so much to advocate for animals, and we know our visitors will be equally excited to hear him speak.”

“The Christmas Festival is the highlight of many people’s year and we believe that this year will be no exception. With a fantastic and diverse range of ethical companies, charities and campaign groups, it is the perfect place to learn more about how you can help animals, whilst enjoying the friendly, festive and supportive atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you there!”

The Festival will be held on 8th December at Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, Kensington, London, W8 7NX, between 10 am-4.30 pm. Entry is £3, under 11s free.

Full details about the festival can be found on the Animal Aid website.
